February has been QUITE the busy month for me on all fronts, and I’ve got lots of new updates going on! And there’s so much that I’m really excited to say that I had 3 friends give birth to beautiful babies this month (including Vince and Stephanie – more to come on that!), and another friend who announced they were expecting!
Before I continue our focus on baby essentials from our Tyckled Baby List, a reader reached out recently for tips on keeping her baby awake during feedings, especially during the first two weeks.
During the early days and weeks of breastfeeding, which we’ll go into more in future posts, it’s a time where you are learning how to care for and feed your baby, and your baby is discovering how to breastfeed and ask for comfort. Your baby should be waking up every 2 to 3 hours for feedings, and oftentimes, you’ll find that your baby falls asleep while getting fed. And this is common because the comfort and soothing that breastfeeding can provide a baby can sometimes make it difficult for your baby to stay awake.
